Here are the requirements for obtaining a business license:
These requirements vary depending on the risk level of the business, with high-risk businesses requiring more permits and licenses. The first step in this process is obtaining a Business Identification Number (NIB) through the OSS system. To register for an NIB, businesses need to provide the following information:
• Taxpayer Identification Number (NPWP).
• Business activity code according to KBLI.
• Business description.
• Business capital structure; and
• Proposed business location.
The OSS system will also be connected to various relevant ministries, such as the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Home Affairs, and the Ministry of Law and Human Rights.
Low-risk businesses:
Low-risk businesses only need to obtain an NIB to begin operations. The NIB not only serves as the official identity of the business but also as the company’s import identification number and registration number for the national social insurance program.
