
Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka were officially inaugurated as the President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia for the 2024-2029 term. The inauguration took place during the MPR RI Plenary Session at the Nusantara Building of the MPR/DPR RI, Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Sunday, October 20, 2024, chaired by the Chairman of the MPR, Ahmad Muzani, starting at 10:00 WIB.
Prabowo took the oath of office first, followed by Gibran. The ceremony was witnessed by the 7th President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, and the 13th Vice President, Ma'ruf Amin, who stood alongside the attending MPR members. After the oath, the event continued with the signing of the inauguration minutes by the president, vice president, and MPR leadership, followed by the handover of office through the seat exchange between Jokowi and Prabowo, as well as Ma'ruf Amin and Gibran.
Prabowo replaced Jokowi as the 8th President of Indonesia, and Gibran replaced Ma'ruf Amin as the 14th Vice President of Indonesia. After the inauguration, Prabowo delivered his first speech as president, followed by a convoy to the State Palace, greeting citizens along the way.
President Prabowo Subianto has announced the Merah Putih cabinet for the 2024-2029 term, which consists of 48 ministers, 5 heads of agencies, and 56 deputy ministers and agency officials.
